NCAA Basketball: Picks for Day 6 of the 2024-25 season
By Bryan Mauro
The first Friday of the college basketball season did not disappoint. There were some huge games and some big time upsets yesterday. Kansas beat North Carolina in a game that was as advertised. Duke blew out Army, VCU blew out Boston College, Austin Peay beat Butler, Ole Miss survived a scare from Grambling, Central Connecticut beat Saint Joseph’s, Alabama survived a scare from Arkansas State, Arizona State looked much better against Santa Clara, Princeton beat Duquesne, and finally Marquette beat George Mason.
There were a lot of other games that saw some power teams struggle. Colorado needed double overtime to beat Northern Colorado, BYU beat Riverside by 6, Yale lost to Illinois-Chicago, Furman beat Belmont, UCF struggled to beat Fort Wayne, and finally NC State beat Presbyterian by 9. The parity in the league is at an all time high this year.
Yesterday I went 49-13 in my picks. That gives me a 5 day total of 192-40.
