11. Kentucky Wildcats - 8-1

New coach Mark Pope has had a huge impact on the Wildcats, who rank first in NCAA Basketball with 92.6 ppg. They have four games of 100+ points and are coming off a shootout victory over top-10 Gonzaga in overtime in Seattle.

Kentucky has six double-figure players, led by Oklahoma transfer Otega Oweh (15.7 ppg). They make over 10 three-pointers, rebound at a high level, and don’t turn the ball over. Even with the injuries to point guards Kerr Kriisa and Lamont Butler, the collective depth on the roster puts them in a position to win games.

The Wildcats are a good team, but with four other SEC programs on the list, they might not even finish in the conference's top tier. The concern is that their offense can be slowed down against better athletes. They scored just 66 points in a road loss at Clemson and were down 16 points at the half against Gonzaga.

The defense of this team can be questioned a bit, and they may have more weaknesses than some of the other top teams. But they’ll be a clear threat in the SEC this season.
