4. NC State Wolf Pack
If there’s one certain thing, it’s that Will Wade can turn around a program in a hurry, and this year’s star-studded transfer portal class at NC State only proves that case.
The Wolfpack will welcome eight transfer portal additions to kickstart the Will Wade era. Among the prized transfer portal targets in this year’s cycle en route to Raleigh is Texas Tech transfer Darrion Williams. Williams, who averaged 15.1 PPG, 5.5 RPG and 3.6 APG last season in Lubbock, was a bona fide star through Texas Tech’s Elite Eight run, posting three 20-point or better outings.
Another prized portal target hails from East Lansing: Michigan State transfer Tre Holloman. If there’s one word that best describes Holloman’s game, it’s “glue-guy.” He can knock down free throws. He posted a nearly 30% assist rate last season. He’s a reliable three-point option. He’s a tough-as-nails defender. He’ll assume backcourt duties immediately.
In addition, the Wolfpack will welcome two McNeese transfers: Quadir Copeland and Alyn Breed. Copeland’s game blossomed over the past two seasons after starting his career at Syracuse. Breed was sidelined for almost all of last season with a knee injury but looks to play a pivotal role in the backcourt next season.
NC State will also welcome in North Carolina transfer Ven-Allen Lubin. It took some time for Lubin to find his groove in Chapel Hill, however, he finished his final 11 games with double-digit scoring efforts to go alongside four double-doubles.
