The international pipeline is more open than ever for NCAA Basketball, with many talented European players moving to play in the states. One of the more notable prospects is Harun Zrno, a 6’6 shooting guard from Bosnia with a reputation for being a pure scorer.
Few teams have emerged in Zrno’s recruitment, with them reportedly landing an upcoming visit. Here’s a closer look at how the talented shooting guard would fit with each situation.
Creighton Bluejays
Creighton recently got good news with international guard Fedor Zugic cleared to play this season. We’ll see if he’s back for another year but with Steven Ashworth leaving after this year, there’s a need for another shooter on the roster for the 2025-26 campaign. Plus, Zrno can slide in as Jamiya Neal’s replacement since he’s a senior as well.
Indiana Hoosiers
The Hoosiers have a four-star wing prospect in the class in Trent Sisley. Shooting guard is a big priority now, as they will be losing Trey Galloway and Luke Goode after this season. Plus, Mackenzie Mgbako, the team’s pure best shooter, could go pro, too. As long as Coach Mike Woodson isn’t on any hot seat, Indiana will be an appealing option for Zrno.
Virginia Cavaliers
UVA is in an interesting spot, as Coach Tony Bennett is gone, and Ron Sanchez is in on an interim basis. If the team doesn’t make the NCAA Tournament, they’re probably rebuilding with a new staff and roster. It would offer an opportunity for Zrno to get a huge role out the gate but without knowing who the future coach is, it’s a big risk for him.
Wisconsin Badgers
Wisconsin has one of the top shooting guards in NCAA Basketball in John Tonje, who’ll be gone after this year. The team already has a pair of guards in the 2025 class, including four-star commit, Zach Kinziger. However, with Kamari McGee and Max Klesmit also seniors, there’s certainly room for another capable scoring guard in the class for the Badgers.
