It’s been an interesting career arc for Elijah Fisher, a 6’6 guard/wing who out of high school, was a top-50 prospect. He started his career at Texas Tech, where he played around 10 mpg off the bench as a freshman. Fisher then transferred to DePaul, where as a starter, produced 10.2 ppg on 52% shooting.

The guard hit the transfer portal again but in an interesting move, went down to the WCC and played for the Pacific Tigers. From an individual standpoint, the move paid off, as Fisher produced career-high numbers of 15.7 ppg and 4.8 rpg, shooting 48% from the field and nearly 30% from deep.

Fisher has entered both the portal and the NBA Draft process this offseason. Assuming he returns for one final college basketball season, four teams have reportedly emerged as ones to watch to land his signature.

Here’s a closer look at how Fisher would fit with each option.

Colorado

It’s been a quiet start to the offseason for the Buffaloes, landing just 20 ppg scoring guard from UC Riverside, Barrington Hargress. Fisher would certainly start for the Big 12 program and not worry too much about a spot in the rotation. Of course, Colorado may struggle in the league once again so if winning is a point, it may not be a great fit.

Ole Miss

The Rebels have been having to rebuild its entire backcourt and so far, have landed Louisville transfer Koren Johnson, or AJ Storr, a wing from Kansas. Fisher and Storr would likely be competing for minutes at the three-spot and Ole Miss is reportedly in the mix for some of the other key transfers left in the portal. This could easily end up being a spot where rotation minutes aren’t a guarantee.

Seton Hall

The Pirates lost about its entire roster from this past season and the rebuild has gone slowly. Merrimack transfer Adam Clark and former Elon guard TK Simpkins are the likely starters, but there’s nothing else on the roster. Fisher played in the Big East before, but right now, this option would be even worse than the team he played for with DePaul.

Villanova

New Coach Kevin Willard has landed a few perimeter players this offseason, including Zion Stanford (Temple), Devin Askew (Long Beach), and Bryce Lindsay (James Madison). There’s still a need on the wings and Fisher can undoubtedly find a role on the new-look team. Plus, it’ll allow him to be in the spotlight more than a Seton Hall or DePaul.
