Several top-tier NCAA Basketball frontcourt prospects have committed to their respective teams in the past month. And now, one of the better available players has updated their recruitment. Mouhamed Sylla is a 6’10 center. Originally from Senegal, Sylla plays his high school ball in Arizona and is a consensus four-star prospect, ranked in the top 50 in most recruiting services.

The high motor and overall athleticism that Sylla possesses make him a high-ceiling prospect that some teams are showing interest in. And now, it’s down to three options. Here’s a closer look at how he’d fit with each of them.

Arkansas Razorbacks

Coach John Calipari has a thing for athletic big men, and in the SEC, they need someone with Sylla’s talent in the future. They’ll be losing Jonas Aidoo after this season, and there’s still a chance that Zvonimir Ivisic will decide to go pro after the year, leaving a huge hole at the center position.

Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets

The starting center for GT is Doryan Onwuchekwa, averaging 3.5 ppg and 4.9 rpg in 18 mpg. The team could use an upgrade or at least another big man a year from now. Sylla has a good chance of being better than Onwuchekwa on paper, and pairing him with Baye Ndongo would give the Yellow Jackets one of the better frontcourts in the ACC.

Oregon Ducks

Oregon’s entire frontcourt rotation is entering its years of eligibility, including starting center Nathan Bittle. They don’t have any frontcourt commits in the 2025 class either, as JJ Flakes is a three-star guard prospect.

Coach Dana Altman’s last star center commit was Bol Bol, who looked good in the few games a few years ago before suffering an injury. If you’re Sylla, this is the one option where you’d have a great shot at starting and having a large role at the Big Ten level.
