NCAA Basketball Recruiting: Analyzing top 3 teams for 4-star forward Dante Allen
Montverde Academy is one of the top high school basketball programs in the country, consistently churning out top prospects. They have plenty of class of 2025 NCAA Basketball recruits to look at, including Dante Allen. He's a 6'3 "shooting guard from Miami who's a natural scorer with a nice shot that should translate well to the college level.
Allen's recruitment has taken its next step, with a trio of teams in the final cut. But which of them is the best potential fit for his services? Here's a closer look at how Allen would fit with each of them.
Georgia Bulldogs
There's plenty of guard depth at Georgia, including the senior transfer duo of Dakota Leffew and Tyrin Lawrence. But the key is the sophomores, Blue Cain and Silas Demary, who have solidified their roles in the backcourt. Unless either is a breakout candidate to become a pro, then Allen would have to settle for coming off the bench early on with this option.
Tennessee Volunteers
Tennessee is losing almost all of their guard depth after next season, with Jordan Gainey, Jahmai Mashack, and transfer Chaz Lanier all being seniors on the roster. That would offer a nice role for Allen to come in and have an impact, especially with his scoring ability. As long as he defends well, he'll be a good fit for Coach Rick Barnes.
Villanova Wildcats
Coach Kyle Neptune doesn't have a commit yet in his 2025 class and a good case can be made that the biggest need is at shooting guard. They'll be losing both Jordan Longino and transfer Wooga Poplar and there's little proven scoring talent besides them and Penn transfer Tyler Perkins.
From a playing time standpoint, Tennessee and Villanova are ahead of Georgia. But one program has a coach who's on the hot seat and another who consistency makes the Big Dance. Could that factor into Allen's decision this week?
