NCAA Basketball Recruiting: Analyzing top 3 teams for 4-star forward Jordan Scott
Another top-100 NCAA Basketball prospect is on the cusp of announcing his college intentions this week. This time, it's Jordan Scott, a 6'7 "small forward out of Virginia. He's a consensus top-100 prospect in the 2025 class, and his size and shooting ability on the wings make him an ideal 3 and D player in college.
Scott's recruitment has reached its climax, with three programs in the running. Do any of them stand out in terms of roster fit? Here's a closer fit of the three team contenders.
Maryland Terrapins
It's been a good start to the 2025 class for Maryland, recently landing 4-star point guard prospect, Christian Jeffrey. They're looking for a wing in the class, with Jordan Geronimo and transfer Selton Miguel set to leave after this season. Even though DeShawn Harris-Smith could be around, Scott would be an offensive weapon that can be paired together in the future.
Michigan State Spartans
The Spartans have been aggressive on the recruiting trail but haven't landed anyone yet, making this an important recruitment to try and land. The team will be losing both Jaden Akins and transfer Frankie Fidler after this season, leaving the wing position wide open for someone like Scott to come in and have an immediate impact.
Virginia Tech Hokies
After losing the core of weapons of the past NCAA Tournament teams, Virginia Tech looks to be rebuilding, including some core young pieces. On the wings along, they have four-star freshman Tyler Johnson and Sin'Cere Jones, a four-star forward commit in the 2025 class. The other two options don't have a potential young logjam to deal with if you're Scott.
Still, with the Virginia Cavaliers not being in the picture, the Hokies represent the hometown team in this battle, that could give them the edge when the announcement come. But with playing time possibly being the factor, don't discount the Big Ten schools either.
