One of the better guard prospects in North Carolina is Kaden Magwood, a consensus four-star recruit in the 2025 NCAA Basketball recruiting class. He's a 6'1 scorer from Charlotte (originally from Louisville) who has shown that he can be both a high-level and efficient scorer anywhere on the court.

Magwood, who also projects to be a solid defender, is now reportedly down to three options. Ahead of a decision date of November 11th, which makes the most sense on paper? Here's a closer look at his options.

Louisville Cardinals

The Cardinals have yet to land a class of 2025 prospect and they have a ton of needs, since almost all of their roster is in their final years of eligibility, outside of Koren Johnson. But with Kobe Rodgers, J'Vonne Hadley, and Terrence Edwards all leaving, the team is hoping to have Magwood return home to the city and have a large role for the rebuilding program.

NC State Wolfpack

NC State will also be losing lots of seniors after this season in the backcourt, including Jayden Taylor and Marcus Hill. The difference here though is that they not only have a pair of freshmen shooting guards (Paul McNeil Jr. and Bryce Heard) but they also have four-star guard commit, RJ Greer. Coach Kevin Keatts is known for playing lots of guards but there could be too much of a logjam for Magwood to consider.

Ole Miss Rebels

Coach Chris Beard has been able to develop guard throughout his coaching career and he'll be losing senior guards as well, including Dre Davis and Matthew Murrell. The team does have four-star guard commit Patton Pinkins in the class and could probably look to get one more guard, though a pure ball-handler would be more ideal.

Out of the three options, Louisville stands out easily for Magwood from a roster standpoint. Add the hometown factor and they could be the clear favorite in this recruitment? Will he be Coach Pat Kelsey's first commit in the class?
