NCAA Basketball Recruiting: Analyzing top 4 teams for 4-star forward Isaiah Sealy

The state of Arkansas can have some talented NCAA Basketball prospects, with 2025 target Isaiah Sealy being the latest example. He’s a 6’7 forward from Springdale who offers great size and potential as a 3 and D wing.

A few teams have been after the top-100 prospect, and there’s now a clear final four for Sealy. Which of them makes the most sense from a roster standpoint? Here’s a closer look at his options.

Arkansas Razorbacks

As the local program, Arkansas would be in the mix for Sealy, no matter who the head coach was. But has John Calipari's taking over changed the dynamic of this recruitment? The team has top-40 freshmen wings (Karter Knox and Billy Richmond) on board they could be early pro candidates. But assuming Coach Cal continues to land big names, will there be space for Sealy to carve out a role?

Boston College Eagles

The Eagles already have three class of 2025 commits, including guards Akbar Waheed III and Caleb Steger. But none are of the four-star variety that Sealy is, who’d be a big scoop for Coach Earl Grant. With senior transfer Roger McFarlane leaving, this is an option where Sealy could not only start as a freshman but be a potential focal point of the offense.

Cal Bears

Cal has a four-star wing commit in the class in Jovani Ruff. And with transfers Andrej Stojakovic and Rytis Petraitis on board with multiple years left, Sealy could have a logjam if he were to pick this option. But after seeing the development of Jaylon Tyson turn into an NBA-caliber player at Cal last season, that’s a major selling point on Coach Mark Madsen’s side.

Ole Miss Rebels

Coach Chris Beard has a pair of four-star commits, including forward Tylis Jordan and guard Patton Pinkins. The good news is that for targets such as Sealy, there’s plenty of room in the future, with seniors Dre Davis, Davon Barnes, and Matthew Murrell leaving after this season. 

If playing time is a focal point of this recruitment, Cal and BC are good options. However, the SEC schools have higher ceilings for Sealy and are also close to home for the southern recruit. It’s an interesting group of teams involved, and we could be set for an interesting result.
