One of the best pure point guards in the 2025 NCAA Basketball recruiting class is Kingston Flemings, a consensus top-20 player out of San Antonio, Texas. He's a 6'2 ball-handler that can run an offense and make the right decisions. He's a quality passer and scorer at all the levels, including as a legit shooter.

Five programs are in the mix to land Flemings. Do any of them stand out as ideal fits? Here's a look at the teams involved.

Arkansas Razorbacks

Coach John Calipari continues to land 5-star talent, no matter what program he's at. His first commit in the 2025 class if top-10 point guard Darius Acuff. The team already has 5-star guards DJ Wagner and Boogie Fland on the roster and although Coach Cal has been known for playing two ball-handlers on the court together, there may be too much of a logjam for Flemings to consider.

Gonzaga Bulldogs

Although Gonzaga is the farthest program out compared to the others, their history of winning of development will still stand out for any prospect. Their backcourt situation is fairly clear, with senior starters Nolan Hickman and Ryan Nembhard leaving after this season. Even with Colgate transfer Braden Smith available after this year, Flemings could very well start for the perennial top-15 program.

Houston Cougars

Coach Kelvin Sampson and the Cougars have already made history this offseason, landing 5-star shooting guard commit, Isiah Harwell. A dream scenario would be to have Harwell and Flemings play together in the backcourt, even with Oklahoma transfer Milos Uzan around. Though outside of LJ Cryer, the rest of the guards on the current roster could come back so at least one more has to leave to make room for Flemings to get meaningful minutes.

Texas Longhorns

The Longhorns are hoping that their move to the SEC can make their basketball program just as prestigious going forward. They'll lose projected starter Tramon Mark after this season but Oregon State and point guard Jordan Pope has two years of eligibility left. Pope and Flemings could play together but the question is does the prospect trust Coach Rodney Terry compared to some of the Hall of Famers on this list?

Texas Tech Red Raiders

Texas Tech will be starting transfer PG Elijah Hawkins this season but don't have a clear plan for the 2025-26 campaign. On paper, Flemings is better than three-star freshman guard Christian Anderson and there's a way both can play together anyways.

Of the five options, this is the one where the top-20 target could know he'd start as a freshman and with them also being a local option, the Red Raiders could make sense as a darkhorse candidate.
