One of the best available players in the 2025 NCAA Basketball recruiting class is Caleb Wilson, a consensus top-10 player and 5-star prospect. He’s a 6’9 power forward from Atlanta, Georgia, who is an elite two-way player known for his quality defense and rim protection, combined with a capable shooting game along with post-play inside.

Wilson has been a coveted prospect in the past few months and is reportedly down to just three teams. Kentucky and North Carolina have been viewed as legitimate contenders throughout, while Ohio State has also gotten in the mix. But who will land Wilson on Thursday?

Here’s a look at how he’d fit with each roster on paper.

Kentucky Wildcats

The power forward spot is a major priority for the team, as they’ll be losing both Andrew Carr and Ansley Almonor at the end of the season. The team has three commits in the 2025 class so far, including guards Jasper Johnson and Acaden Lewis, along with top-30 center prospect Malachi Moreno. Coach Mark Pope’s offense has shown to be one of the best systems in NCAA Basketball and Wilson can put up some big numbers a year from now, even if he’s not the No. 1 option. On the other hand, depending on who the Wildcats land in the portal next offseason, he might not get a featured role either.

North Carolina Tar Heels

Speaking of frontcourt needs, UNC has plenty of them, Their best lineups this season have included all guards, as their offseason transfer pickups just haven’t worked out. And their only two commits in the 2025 class in Isaiah Dennis and Derek Dixon. Wilson would easily be the focal point inside for the Tar Heels, who would still be an appealing option even once star RJ Davis moves on.

Ohio State Buckeyes

The Buckeyes landed a pair of former 5-star prospects last offseason in Sean Stewart and Aaron Bradshaw. Those two have been solid on the court but by no means stars, which is something that Wilson can change for them inside. He’d give them an offensive threat while keeping the interior defense top-tier.

Has first-year HC Jake Diebler done enough on the court at Ohio State to land a big fish like Wilson? That remains to be seen. But one of these three programs is about to get some very good news soon.
