Much buzz this weekend floats around a pair of surprise teams in the College Football Playoffs, but let’s not ignore the buzz in the sport of college basketball. Conference play is now in full swing around the country and we’re going to see intense matchups and exciting results on a regular basis from here on out this season. Even if the full attention isn’t on this sport yet, basketball is still delivering.

We’re in that special part of the season where conferences like the Big 12, Big Ten, and SEC are regularly giving us exciting matchups, but let’s not act like these are the only important leagues. While they might not be filled with ranked or highly-regarded programs, there’s excellent basketball around the nation even in mid-major leagues, where the coming weeks will help determine just who might be that trendy upset pick during March Madness.

The attention floats to those teams who are the very best, and there’s certainly an uptick in great matchups this time of the year. Barely a few days can pass before there’s another ranked SEC team getting significantly challenged or a surprising result down in the Big 12. Even the best teams in the nation are starting to look vulnerable, and that even includes a few that haven’t quite had that first blemish yet this season.

With more than enough buzz around this sport and reliable action this time of year, there were certainly some major changes to our Top 25 rankings this week. Most teams are just about halfway through their regular season schedules so we’re starting to figure out who belongs among the top contenders, but figuring out who belongs among the ranked teams is absolute chaos. Let’s see who qualified this week!
