16. Alabama (20-7)
You can look at that 7 at the end of Alabama’s record and not realize that this is still one of the best teams in the nation. The Crimson Tide have played one of the hardest schedules in the entire country and that’s been the case from beginning to end. This team has really found its footing during their current winning streak, a trend that’s included great wins over Texas A&M and Auburn to get back into the SEC race.
The Crimson Tide prevailed in one of the more incredible games of the regular season, outlasting Arkansas 117-115 in double overtime. Labaron Philon Jr. had 35 points and 7 assists while Aiden Sherrell added 26 points and 13 rebounds. Alabama did equally good work on the road, winning 90-83 at LSU on Saturday. Aden Holloway scored 17 points while Amari Allen added 16 points in another fine showing for the Crimson Tide.
Things looked dire at times earlier in the year, but Alabama has run off six wins in a row and are 10-4 in the SEC. This is still one of the most productive offenses in the land and Nate Oats has to like the fight he’s seen from this team down the stretch. The fight is far from done and next weekend’s rematch at Tennessee is a great opportunity for the Crimson Tide to really assert themselves as a contender.
