13. Texas Tech (19-6)

The Red Raiders were in a remarkable stretch that included wins over Duke, BYU, and then Houston and asserted themselves as a top team. Texas Tech then slipped up, falling at UCF and at home against Kansas last week with a few tough showings. This team has entered an important stretch as they look to bounce back and believe me they certainly did just that this past week.

We saw them in action back on Sunday, getting a 70-63 win at West Virginia including 22 points from JT Toppin and a 13-point, 11-assist game from Christian Anderson. There wasn’t drama Wednesday in a 78-44 blowout win against Colorado, including a 16-point, 18-rebound performance from Toppin. Saturday topped them all, as Texas Tech got a hard fought overtime win on the road against top-ranked Arizona thanks largely to 31 points and 13 rebounds from Toppin to cap off a heroic week.

Brilliant work out of the Red Raiders have them right back in the thick of the Big 12 race with these wins and great performances. Texas Tech continues to show that they can hang with any team in the nation and their list of impressive wins stacks up with almost any other team. They’ll be back on the road at Arizona State before hosting Kansas State during another week that could score them two more weeks.
