12. Alabama (22-7)

The Crimson Tide fell out of the public favor a bit with some struggles earlier in SEC play but they’ve more than made up for that in recent weeks. Alabama sat just 4-4 in the conference when they lost at Florida to begin February, but what’s followed has been a month of emphatic performances and great winning, notably toppling Auburn, Texas A&M, and Arkansas in double overtime.

That hot streak continued this week with a 100-75 home win over Mississippi State back on Wednesday. Amari Allen starred with 23 points, Latrell Wrightsell had 18 points, and Aden Holloway added a 16-point, 10-assist performance in a game played without star Labaron Philon Jr. They had a more full complement of players for a shocking comeback on Saturday, with the Crimson Tide digging out of a 12-point halftime hole to win 71-69 at Tennessee. Wrightsell had 25 points, but Philon made the game-winning shot in the final minute as part of a 15-point performance.

Alabama has suddenly won eight games in a row and are an impressive 12-4 in the SEC. Their standing has greatly increased over the last month and they’ve been doing it against contending teams, with those notable wins stockpiling in February. However, they aren’t quite out of the woods yet, heading to Georgia before hosting rival Auburn in the final week of the regular season, and you better believe many eyes will be on this team.
