5. Florida (23-6)

Nearly everything is going Florida’s way in recent weeks. The only loss since the second week of January was a stumper at home to Auburn, as the Gators have been having their way with some of the top teams in the SEC. They’ve won at Vanderbilt, blew out Alabama, and given teams like Kentucky and Texas A&M quite the hard time during this long stretch of success.

Florida grabbed another win on the road on Wednesday night, triumphing 84-71 at Texas to continue their streak. Alex Condon stood out with 23 points while Boogie Fland added 22 points in the win. Road wins are fantastic, but Florida’s efforts on Saturday were next level, getting a 111-77 win over Arkansas. Florida had seven different players score in double figures on an outstanding night for the offense, including a 22-point game from Thomas Haugh and yet another double-double out of Rueben Chinyelu.

Now that they’ve won nine straight and secured at least a share of the SEC title, let’s start telling it like it is. The Florida team that we thought this would be when the season began has finally arrived and truly looks like a national contender. The frontcourt is elite and the guards are really starting to heat up at the right time of the year. Florida finished their home slate against Mississippi State before hunting for a sweep over Kentucky with a season-ending trip to Lexington.
