3. Arizona (27-2)
The Wildcats would still have a perfect record if we had skipped that early February week where they fell to both Kansas and Texas Tech. This Arizona team has made a habit out of looking incredible against prime competition and has certainly done that in the Big 12. There’s a reason the Wildcats sit atop the league standings and that was evident last week in that shocking win at Houston.
It was no blowout, but Arizona used a strong second half to win 87-80 at Baylor to begin this week. Jaden Bradley had 25 points and Brayden Burries added 24 points to sink the Bears and get another road win for the Wildcats. Saturday was even sweeter, with Arizona winning 84-61 over Kansas to avoid one of those recent losses. Burries led the charge with 20 points and 12 rebounds as all five starters scored in double figures.
Arizona has great wins over teams like UConn, Houston, and Kansas on days when they aren’t making their 3-pointers. This is a brutal and explosive offense that isn’t victim to streaky shooting and inconsistency. The Wildcats have proven that they’re going to be a team to beat in the weeks ahead in the postseason. They’ll get one more major regular season test at home against Iowa State next week before the finale at Colorado.
