20. Arkansas (21-8)
One positive about Arkansas’s season is that they haven’t really lost any bad games. They’ve picked up impressive wins over teams like Louisville, Texas Tech, and Vanderbilt, and have avoided the pitfalls, putting themselves in pretty great shape in the SEC. They’re still shaking off that wild double overtime loss against Alabama last week, but there were still some intriguing opportunities on the schedule.
The Razorbacks looked pretty good on Wednesday night, winning 99-84 over Texas A&M. Billy Richmond III had another great showing with 23 points while Darius Acuff Jr. added 22 points and 7 assists against those Aggies. Saturday was the opposite result, with Arkansas falling out of the game early in a 111-77 loss at Florida. In what would become the Razorbacks’ worst showing of the season, Richmond led the charge with 22 points and 6 rebounds but this was Florida’s night to show off in Gainesville.
A 34-point loss to the defending champions and SEC leader doesn’t destroy what Arkansas has been building this season, though the cracks are starting to show. The defense hasn’t been great in recent weeks and this team has had a very limited rotation due to injuries. Regardless, Arkansas is 11-5 and can certainly win twice in the final week, hosting Texas before ending off at Missouri.
