We’re a week into March and firmly getting into the meat and potatoes of the college basketball season. While it’s the action of most fair weather fans of this sport, we simply can’t ignore the great hoops action that has occurred over the last four months. There have been buzzer beaters and unforgettable moments as well as tears and debilitating injuries all the same.
We’ll definitely be reflecting much more on what’s happened over the course of this season, but there’s clear excitement because the NCAA Tournament is right around the corner. The intrigue of the sporting world will be on college hoops and we’ll see the best of the best dueling for the honor of becoming the next national champions. Only the greatest players, coaches, and teams alike get to call themselves champions after all.
In all likelihood, today’s update to the Top 25 rankings is going to include the team that will cut down the nets next month in early April. We’re getting into a grueling three weeks of winner-take-all action and only the best teams can survive that action. This season has already shown us just who exactly some of those best teams are but anything can happen in those do-or-die March moments.
Before the NCAA Tournament, there are still a few days of basketball action, largely with conference tournament season now in full swing. Based on what we’ve seen in this last week, we’re giving one of the final updates to our Top 25. You won’t find March Madness seeded according to national rankings but we’re getting a good feel for just which teams can make a realistic run at the Final Four and cutting down those nets.
