1. Arizona (23-0)
The nation’s best team keeps winning games and making their impact felt around the nation. The Big 12 is the furthest thing from a picnic and yet the Wildcats are pacing the field with their phenomenal play, including several double-digit wins already in league play. Boasting a plethora of impressive wins over the last three months, Arizona remains unbeaten and is truly the top contender and showed it again this week.
We just saw one outing for the Wildcats but it was the furthest thing from a test. Arizona stayed comfortably at home and really took it to Oklahoma State in an 84-47 win that was never very close. Brayden Burries had 15 points and 8 rebounds while Jaden Bradley had 13 points in a victory that involved contributions up and down the lineup.
One thing that didn’t go right on Saturday was that Arizona struggled again from outside the arc. This impressive and strong lineup has overcome those shortcomings but that kind of streaky shooting might cost the Wildcats one day soon. The next two weeks of their schedule is murderous and begins Monday with a trip to Kansas before hosting Texas Tech over the weekend.
We’re getting further and further into the college basketball season and are starting to get a more concrete picture of the sport’s landscape. We’ve updated our Top 25 rankings accordingly after another exciting week of results, but do you agree with the changes we’ve made? Does someone else deserve to be included or ranked higher?
