Just because March Madness and the NCAA Tournament don’t start for nearly two months doesn’t mean that the college basketball season hasn’t already been exciting and inspiring. We’re seeing players, teams, and coaches alike shining on different stages and really making the most of this season. We’re also seeing the opposite, though we don’t really reflect on the disappointments quite as much.
The hard work pays off in a major way for those teams that have put themselves in great position. We’re a few weeks into conference play and certainly starting to see teams pulling away and standing out in many of these conferences. While the level of competition is very different in the Big Ten as opposed to a conference like the Horizon League, there’s still exciting action and close races in nearly every corner of the country.
The attention falls on the Big Ten-type leagues and the great programs who have the most attention, expectations, and NIL support. It’s much harder to follow the ebb and flow in this sport as rosters seem to completely change every season, but those efforts are paying off. We’re seeing the transfers and new faces really settling into new schools while unheralded recruits or forgotten players make waves in a similar fashion.
With nearly three months of basketball already played on the court, we’ve gotten a pretty firm look at where things stand in this sport. As such we’re updating our Top 25 rankings with the games and action from the last week, fresh off another enthralling Saturday of basketball. Are there surprise teams in these rankings that could cut down the nets in April? Let’s just see what happened this week and who may or may not have made a major move in these conference races.
