2. Arizona (8-0)
An early story of this season has been Arizona’s constant display of talent and strength, evident from the season’s opening night with their win over Florida. Since then the Wildcats have toppled UCLA and UConn, impressively taking care of those Huskies in a true road environment. They’ve passed every early test and soared through November but believe it or not they got December started just as hot.
Arizona’s first game in this new month came Saturday and was emphatic, getting a 97-68 win over a ranked Auburn team. Five different Wildcats were in double figures, including an 18-point performance out of freshman Koa Peat. Fellow freshman Brayden Burries also starred with 16 points as the Wildcats kept riding these performances to big wins.
What more could Arizona have realistically shown us after eight games this season? The offense has been incredible, even putting up big numbers when the 3-pointers aren’t falling, like in that game in Storrs just a few weeks ago. Everything’s clicking and going well but the difficulty is far from over, as the Wildcats have a major throwdown against Alabama coming up on Friday.
