22. Georgia (10-1)
The Bulldogs are on a very short list of teams that have not lost a game in regulation to this point in the season. Let’s not act like Georgia has played a murderer’s row but that overtime loss against Clemson is their only blemish, largely taking care of business thanks to a strong offense. Georgia has topped 100 points several times this season and dispatched of both Cincinnati and Florida State by double digits in recent weeks.
This week was far less of a challenge for Mike White’s crew, as Georgia was comfortable at home and came away with a 112-82 win over Western Carolina. The offense was in fine form once again with what was surprisingly just their third highest scoring output of the year. Jeremiah Wilkinson had 26 points, Marcus Millender added 17 points off the bench, and Somto Cyril had a double-double.
Plagued at times by poor outside shooting, Georgia really hasn’t yet proven that they’re a real contender, but we like what we’ve seen from this group to this point. As the metrics currently stand, Clemson is the only really good team the Bulldogs have played to this point and they’ll certainly hope to use SEC play to prove that they’re a Tournament team again and one that can make legitimate noise. Next week doesn’t being that quest, as they just host West Georgia early in the week.
