2. Arizona (9-0)

It’s hard to put into words just how well things have gone for Tommy Lloyd and his team at this point. A good first impression was made by this team on opening night against Florida and they’ve only surpassed that feeling as time has gone on. The true road win at UConn was amazing and the 29-point win over Auburn was outstanding and yet somehow the Wildcats got another notable result this weekend.

The Wildcats headed down to Birmingham to take on a very strong Alabama team and they gave their fans another night to remember. Arizona won 96-75 over the Crimson Tide in an electric performance, with 28 points from Brayden Burries in an unforgettable night for the freshman. Tobe Awaka grabbed 15 boards off the bench, Motiejus Krivas added 14 points and 14 rebounds and the whole night was great work all around.

If the 3-pointers don’t fall, Arizona gets the job done inside the paint. When the defense isn’t at its best, the Wildcats score a ton of points and take charge in key possessions. In many ways this team is winning these games and doing it in impressive ways over elite competition. Their resume was already outstanding but blowing out this Alabama squad is just nuts. They’ve earned what should be an easier time next week against Abilene Christian and San Diego State.
