4. Duke Blue Devils
Cameron Boozer headlines the top recruiting class in America. With Nikolas Khamenia and Dame Sarr bringing elite athleticism, Duke is once again the ACC favorite. Caleb Foster’s development could define their ceiling.
Boozer comes in as the No. 3 recruit in the country. Khamenia is No. 15. The other three projected starters appear to be Caleb Foster, Isaiah Evans, and Patrick Ngongba II. Those three scored 5.1, 6.8, and 3.9 points per game, respectively. That is not a ton of points returning for Coach Scheyer’s squad.
Gone is Cooper Flagg. He went to the NBA draft and was the top pick. Gone is Kon Knueppel, who is now a member of the Charlotte Hornets. Gone is Tyrese Proctor, and he is a member of the Cleveland Cavaliers. Sion James is also with the Charlotte Hornet,s and Khaman Maluach is with the Phoenix Suns.
There is no doubt that fans are going to have to get familiar with a new cast of characters. The good news is - the new characters are also talented. Duke gets started right away as they take on the Texas Longhorns on Tuesday, November 4. Duke also sees Kansas, Arkansas, Florida, Michigan State, and Texas Tech early in the season.
