Fred Hoiberg was hired at Nebraska to build the team into a consistent winner, get the Huskers to multiple NCAA tournament appearances, and finally get the monkey off their back and win an NCAA tournament game. Nebraska accomplished one of those things last year when they made the NCAA tournament as an eight seed before finally losing to a hot Texas A&M team in the first round.

The Huskers finally lived up to their lofty preseason expectations last year. They had the biggest win in program history when they blew out Purdue in Lincoln. A few weeks later, they came back from 20 points down and beat Wisconsin at home. Even with those two wins, the Huskers still had to get some road wins, and at the end of the year, they finally beat Indiana and Michigan on the road to secure their spot in the field. It was a huge step in the right direction for the program.

NIL has changed college sports forever, and everyone has been affected by it. The Huskers are no exception they lost a lot from the NCAA tournament team and heading into the 2024-2025 season there are a lot of new pieces that coach Hoiberg needs to fit together for Nebraska to reach their goals and get back to the tournament again this year.

Big man Rienk Mast is out for the season, and superstar Keisei Tominaga has graduated and moved on. The Huskers have a nice mix of defensive-minded players and scorers, as well as guys who will fill their role nicely. Who will start?  Who will come off the bench? What does the schedule look like?  Will Nebraska get back to making the tournament? All the answers to those questions will be below in the Nebraska season preview.
