Wednesday had 5 ranked teams in action and all of them are projected to win their games. The Thursday schedule will leave a lot to be desired if you enjoy watching power five basketball and especially ranked teams. There are two ranked teams in action on Thursday, both are on the road and both have tough games.  Those are the featured games for a lighter Thursday schedule of games.

No. 25 Maryland at Nebraska prediction and pick

Nebraska went to Maryland in the middle of January and lost by three points but gave Maryland all they could handle on the defense end of the floor. The Huskers frustrated the Maryland bigs all game long and Nebraska was able to get a lot of points at the rim and kept the game close for the duration. The Huskers were in the middle of their six game losing streak at that point. Maryland comes into this game hot and ranked in the top 20. It is safe to say that both teams are different teams now.

Nebraska has started to regain their magic and home and the Terrapins have finally figured out how to win. The Huskers and Terps are both NCAA tournament teams at this point but Nebraska does need to have this game to cement their status. If Nebraska can get this win it would go a long way towards making sure they make the NCAA tournament two seasons in a row. The Huskers will have to do it shorthanded as their big man and defensive specialist Berke Buyuktuncel is out for this game after spraining his ankle against Ohio State.

No. 14 Memphis at South Florida prediction and pick

The Tigers have never won the American Athletic Conference regular season under coach Penny Hardaway. They are well on their way this year to the regular season title but they can’t afford any bad games or hiccups. The Tigers head into play against South Florida with a 1.5-game lead over North Texas. Memphis just needs to keep winning, and they will secure their first American Athletic Conference title for Penny.

South Florida is a team that had a ton of preseason expectations but then their coach suddenly passed away right before the season which derailed what many hoped to be a promising season. The Bulls don’t likely have enough to beat Memphis but this game has turned into a rivalry over the last few seasons and anything can happen when these teams meet.

Here are the rest of the picks for February 13, 2025. Enjoy the hoops!
