The Maryland Terrapins are heading to the Sweet 16 thanks to the incredible play of Derik Queen hitting the right shot at the right time. After taking the lead with two free throws by Julian Reese, Colorado State's Jalen Lake hit a clutch three-pointer to give the Rams a one-point lead with 3.7 seconds left in regulation.
Maryland needed a miracle shot in order to take the lead and vault themselves into the Sweet 16. After struggling in the first half, Queen picked up his play int he second half and he knew if this team wanted to win, the ball needed to be in his hand.
The Terrapins inbounded the ball on the sideline to Queen, who took a few dribbles to the basket, collected the ball, and hit a fade-away jumper off the backboard into the basket to give Maryland the one-point win at the buzzer.
The shot in real-time was absolutely insane, slowed down, it looks even more impressive, but this new angle of Queen's shot will send chills down your spine, and if you are a Maryland fan, it might keep you up all night watching it.

At the beginning of the play, you can almost see in Queen's eyes that he is about to get this ball and make this shot for his team. With this shot, Queen finished the night as the Terrapin's leading scorer with 17 points, six rebounds, and two blocks.
The Baltimore native is certainly going to live in infamy In Maryland, and if the Terrapins can take down the Florida Gators in the Sweet 16, they just might never have to pay for another meal in the state ever again.
Maryland is set to take on the 1-seed Flordia Gators in the Sweet 16 and will come in as the underdogs, but this shot just might give them all the momentum they need to go and find an upset in their back pocket.
