Ohio State Basketball: 2024-25 season preview for the Buckeyes

Projected Starters
Guard – Bruce Thornton (Junior)
Many faces from last year are gone, but Thornton is a significant returner and the only starter back in Columbus. Fantastic already as an underclassman, he’s coming off a sophomore season where he averaged 15.7 points, 3.7 rebounds, and 4.8 assists per game. Thornton earned All-Big Ten honors and was the leading scorer for the Buckeyes, a trend that should continue as a junior.
Guard – Meechie Johnson Jr. (Senior)
Johnson began his career as a reserve for two seasons at Ohio State but really blossomed as an upperclassman at South Carolina. Last season he was a major factor in the Gamecocks’ NCAA Tournament run, averaging 14.1 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 2.9 assists per game. After earning All-SEC honors, Johnson is back where it all started for his final season of eligibility and should play a major role.
Guard – Micah Parrish (Senior)
Having led an eventful career already, Parrish joins the Buckeyes for his final collegiate campaign. He had two solid years as a starter at Oakland before joining the rotation at San Diego State, appearing in the national title game two seasons ago. Parrish averaged 9.3 points and 4.1 rebounds as a starter last season with the Aztecs and is a fantastic defensive player.
Forward – Sean Stewart (Sophomore)
A 5-star prospect from last season, Stewart joins the Buckeyes after transferring from Duke. Things didn’t work out for Stewart with the Blue Devils, earning little playing time and averaging just 2.6 points and 3.2 rebounds last season. Ohio State gives him a starting opportunity, and the Buckeyes hope Stewart can develop into the elite frontcourt weapon that was advertised.
Forward – Aaron Bradshaw (Sophomore)
One of last season’s top freshman recruits, Bradshaw is another raw frontcourt talent arriving in Columbus looking for a second chance. He had decent run and a handful of starts at Kentucky last season, putting up 4.9 points and 3.3 rebounds a game, but Bradshaw gets a bigger opportunity with the Buckeyes. He could possibility develop into a monster down in the paint.
