The back-to-back National Champion UConn Huskies and head coach Dan Hurley begin their quest for yet another NCAA Tournament crown on Friday night against the Oklahoma Sooners and head coach Porter Moser.

While this isn't the same UConn team that won back-to-back titles under Hurley in 2023 and 2024, this squad still has some weapons that makes them dangerous on the offensive end. UConn has three starters all scoring at least 14 points per game this past regular season.

UConn was rolling entering the NCAA Tournament this postseason, having won five of its last six games. The Huskies ended the regular season on a four-game winning streak in the Big East.

Oklahoma also righted the ship after struggling throughout most of SEC conference play during the stretch run of the regular season over the past few weeks. Since March 5, the Sooners have won three of its last four, including a ranked win over the No. 15 Mizzou Tigers in Norman.

Oklahoma vs UConn prediction

This is the first time that the Sooners and Huskies have met on the hardwood since the 2005-06 season in Norman.

Oklahoma is in the NCAA Tournament also for the first time since 2021. The Sooners won a Round of 64 game over nine-seed Mizzou in the 2021 NCAA Tournament a few years ago. Moser and the Sooners narrowly missed out on a spot in the NCAA Tournament on the bubble last postseason in 2024.
