Ole Miss provided the moment of Championship Week thus far when Sean Pedulla knocked down a game-winning three to send the Rebels to the quarterfinals of the SEC tournament. Prior to that shot, Pedulla was 0 for 6 from behind the arc, but the sharpshooter got one to fall when it mattered most. Ole Miss got double-digit scoring efforts from five players in the high-scoring affair and were led by big man who scored their first 11 points of the game. They will now get another shot to take down the Auburn Tigers in the SEC tournament quarterfinals.
Auburn, who spent almost all of the season as the unquestioned best team in college basketball, comes in off of two straight losses to end the season. The last time they took the court, they fell to Alabama on a last-second shot despite a valiant 34-point and 8-rebound effort from Wooden Award candidate.
These two met twice during the regular season, with both contests ending in double-digit victories for Auburn. The first meeting was actually a lot closer than the final score may show, but in the matchup in late February, the Tigers won by 30 points, which was their largest margin of victory in SEC play. Both teams are already locks to make the tournament. However, the Rebels are still playing for seeding, and Auburn will be looking to take some positive momentum into March Madness after a rocky end to the regular season.

Ole Miss vs. Auburn prediction
With the way Auburn played after clinching the SEC regular season title, I question if they are really motivated at the moment or if they are just ready to get started with the tournament that matters most. Chris Beard has a great team on both ends of the floor who will surely come into this one feeling good after a buzzer-beater win. In the 80 minutes of basketball played between these two earlier in the year, Auburn has held the lead for all but four minutes, so getting off to a hot start will be important for Ole Miss if they want to pull off the upset.
I do not see that happening, though, and believe that the Tigers come out angry and ready to play, as Bruce Pearl knows his team cannot go into the tournament on three straight losses. The Rebels will not have an answer for Broome, and could have another big-time performance against Ole Miss if he can keep himself in the game. Auburn’s offense has been a problem for teams all season long and I do not see an answer coming in this quick turnaround game for Ole Miss.
