One of the best teams in women’s college basketball has been UCLA, ranked No. 1 in the AP poll and a 1-seed in the NCAA Tournament. Their path to get to the Sweet 16 included wins over Southern and Richmond and are riding a five-game win streak, including a win over JuJu Watkins and USC in the Big Ten Tournament title game.
Ole Miss had a tougher path to this game as the 5-seed. They defeated Ball State in the Round of 64 and pulled off a 69-63 upset at 4-seed Baylor in the Round of 32 on the road to make this game. Three players had at least 13 points for the Rebels, led by 16 points and six rebounds from Sira Thienou.

. UCLA vs Ole Miss prediction
Ole Miss is a fairly balanced unit, with four double-digit scorers. They aren’t the biggest team in the nation but have a pair of good forwards in 6’2 Madison Scott and Starr Jacobs. The Rebels biggest strength is on the defensive end, top-5 nationally in both makes and attempts allowed at around 4/13 from deep.
However, UCLA’s biggest strength lies inside with All-American and 6’7 center, Lauren Betts. She leads the Bruins with 19.7 ppg and 9.7 rpg, producing 44 points and 20 rebounds combined in the first two games. Ole Miss will need to throw multiple bodies at her and slow here down to have a chance but it’ll be difficult.
It should be a good game that is close in the fourth quarter but in the end, look for the Bruins to advance.
Prediction: UCLA 70, Ole Miss 60
