The most wonderful time of the year has arrived, and no this is not referring to Santa Claus and his return to town. Big East Basketball is here, and 11 teams will be fighting for March Madness seeding, and all will have a chance at the end of this in the Big East Tournament at Madison Square Garden.

You have three ranked teams, four teams finishing with seven wins, and five teams with at least nine. The conference boasts the reigning National Champions UConn who sit at 10-1 and have done a great job defending their title so far. However, the 10 other teams will get two cracks at them, and they did not do as strong in conference play as you would think last season.

When you have the National Champions go 13-7 in conference play and finish fourth, it is safe to say you have a pretty good conference. This year you have just much parity and all these teams looking to shock the nation, and all are making their best pitch for the committee come March

Whether you find Butler's return to relevance interesting, the new and maybe improved Kim English era at Providence, Ed Cooley's revival of Georgetown, or the biggest story of them all with Rick Pitino coming to St. John's, you are in for a treat this season. This conference has had tons of turnover with coaching, players, and just about everything.

But one thing is still true, these teams are still going to play that hard-nosed, gritty form of basketball we all love to watch. These teams do not like each other, and that is apparent every time they step on the court. But who stacks up against the rest right now? And who has more to prove than the others?
