It’s been a long and grueling road for many but at long last we have reached March Madness. The NCAA Tournament is set to begin later this week as the culmination of a season of hard work and amazing performances all over the nation. We’ll be examining some of the important people and teams, with our current focus on the teams in the Midwest region.

After what happened last season, a lot of eyes will be on 1-seed Purdue and how they handle the pressure early in the Tournament. The same could easily be argued for 2-seed Tennessee, another program that’s been susceptible to upset in recent years. If healthy, both 3-seed Creighton and 4-seed Kansas could challenge for supremacy in this region based on their play this season.

There’s a lot to like further down the seed list in the Midwest, starting with Gonzaga at the 5-seed after an unusual season for the Bulldogs. South Carolina has had quite the remarkable season and their reward is an Oregon team that just won the last Pac-12 Tournament. There are some scary mid-majors near the bottom as well, as McNeese won 30 games this season and earned the 12-seed while familiar Cinderella Saint Peter’s is back as a 15-seed once more.

We’re not going to give analysis on matchups or make predictions today; our focus right now is on the best players that are in the Tournament field. We’re identifying and analyzing the Top 20 players specifically from the Midwest region. Quite frankly this might be the most talented region out of the four, with a few of the very best players in the entire nation right here in the Midwest. Without further ado let’s get right into those rankings, keeping in mind that some great players didn’t make the cut.
