Pittsburgh Panthers - Grade: B

The Panthers knew they were losing star forward and leading scorer Blake Hinson since he had no eligibility. They also lost Bub Carrington, who went from barely being a top-100 prospect in the 2023 freshman class to an eventual “one and done” and NBA Draft lottery pick. His departure hurt the Panthers, along with also losing starting center, Federiko Federiko.

The good news for Pittsburgh was that it kept the rest of the roster. Point guard Jaland Lowe is a sophomore breakout candidate after entering the starting lineup in the second half of the season, while ACC 6th Man of the Year guard Ishmael Leggett is also back for his final year. Starter Zach Austin returns, along with the twin duo of Jorge and Guillermo Diaz-Graham.

Pittsburgh adds a trio of newcomers who could have a big impact next season. Damian Dunn comes over from Houston and is looking to get to his production at Temple, where he averaged around 15 ppg. Cameron Corhen is a starting center from Florida State who is an offensive upgrade over Federiko for the Panthers. Plus, Amsal Delalic is a 6’7 wing who could be an international impact newcomer for the program.

More than anything, it’s the first offseason for Pittsburgh in a while that didn’t have any drama, such as offseason suspensions (for now). Coach Jeff Capel now has some stability in the program and the roster is good enough to compete in the ACC. Had they been able to bring Adou Thiero home, they’ve could’ve made the case for an “A” grade.
