Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets - Grade: A-

There certainly were ups and downs in Year 1 of the Damon Staoudamire era but there definitely was potential with some of their young pieces. Naithan George and Baye Ndongo were two freshmen standouts who could’ve been pro or portal prospects to better programs.

However, both of them elected to return, instantly giving them hope to get back into the postseason mix. They’ve done a good job of surrounding them with good talent as well, including replacing leading scorer Miles Kelly with Oklahoma transfer Javian McCollum, which might have been an upgrade in the backcourt.

Former Colorado sharpshooter Luke O’Brien and JUCO transfer Jalen Forrest adds depth, while top-40 freshman Jaeden Mustaf could be another key underclassmen joining the team. They also landed two incoming frontcourt prospects (Doryan Onwuchekwa and Cole Kirouac) to pair with Ndongo, along with Georgetown transfer center, Ryan Mutombo.

Georgia Tech was able to improve its roster and keep its top two players, despite not making the NCAA Tournament. That alone should be considered a big win for the program’s hopes of moving up. Now, we’ll see how much those two can improve for next season.
