4. NC State Wolfpack

2023-24 season record: 26-15 (9-11 ACC)

It’s been said before but Coach Kevin Keatts was on the hottest of seats, potentially losing to Louisville in the first round of the ACC Tournament. They ended up winning nine straight games, winning both the autobid and a surprise trip to the Final Four as an 11-seed before falling to Purdue.

Now, the Wolfpack will have to deal with four of the top five scorers being gone. That includes leading scorers, DJ Burns, DJ Horne, and Casey Morsell, while Mohamed Diarra has gone pro. The one returning double-digit scorer back is Jayden Taylor, who averaged 11.2 ppg.

A trio of other rotation players to remember are Dennis Parker, Michael O’Connell, and Ben Middlebrooks, all of whom will be having larger roles. And Coach Keatts has added four capable transfers as well. Brandon Huntley-Hatfield and Mike James are double-digit scorers from Louisville, while Dontrez Styles produced 12.8 ppg and 5.8 rpg at Georgetown.

The recent commitment of Marcus Hill (20.5 ppg and 5.0 rpg) from Bowling Green gives them a potent scorer and potential replacement for Horne in the backcourt. If four-star prospects Tremayne Parker and Paul McNeil Jr. can have an impact, this roster will have plenty of depth to remain viable in the ACC.
