UConn has made its way to the Elite Eight… again. And honestly? Fans are growing a little tired of seeing the Huskies at the center of March Madness.
Don’t get me wrong, they have the talent and the coach to deserve to be here. Dan Hurley, Tristen Newton, and more have put in the time and effort to work their way past their opponents.
But come on. Can’t anybody take them down?
After the Huskies’ 30-point demolition of the San Diego State Aztecs, fans took to social media to share their… weariness… that UConn would once again be in the Elite Eight:

Good thing I bought my ticket before prices spike again.

UConn won six games in the NCAA tournament last year by an average of 20.0 points per game.

Lost three starters and five of their top eight scorers.
And they're better.
That should not be possible.
UConn has won its last eight tournament games (dating back to 2023 when the Huskies won the national title) by at least 13 points. Hurley led the Huskies to an astonishing 17-point victory in the 2023 championship game.

UConn going back to back in college hoops is disheartening but at least North Carolina didn’t win

All year long the story was that UConn, Houston, and Purdue were the top tier of college basketball but that there just weren't any truly elite teams this year.

And now suddenly UConn is being treated like some unbeatable, legendary team.
GMAB.
Hurley and the Huskies are currently 34-3 overall, including their tournament wins, and finished their leadup to the Big Dance with yet another conference title in the Big East Tournament.
I'm wondering out loud if you take a team of NBA scrubs - would they still beat UConn? I'm betting yes, and it's not even close.

I'm having fun like it's 2005 again. Now comes the toughest test: beating that juggernaut Uconn team. Go shock on the world on Saturday. #ILLvsISU #Illini #MarchMadness
