Porter Moser

We could spend time diving into another dozen coaches currently at the power conference level. Arkansas will leave no stone unturned as they hunt for their new leader, but many prominent head coaches have new extensions, large buyouts, or lack a willingness to leave their programs right now. Could things be different with regards to Moser?

A former player and graduate assistant at Creighton, Moser was an assistant at Texas A&M for several years and began his head coaching career in this state at Little Rock. After mixed results there and at Illinois State, he became known for his winning culture at Loyola Chicago, taking the Ramblers to the Final Four in 2018 and Sweet Sixteen three years later. Moser has spent the last three seasons at Oklahoma, though he’s fallen short of reaching the Big Dance with the Sooners.

Based on his results in Norman, Moser isn’t exactly a name that will inspire many at the moment in Arkansas. Still, he does have experience coaching and recruiting in the state of Arkansas and has power conference experience. With the resources available at Arkansas he can certainly do damage in the coming years in Fayetteville, but this is different from Loyola Chicago. Moser’s star as dulled a bit and he’s not a top candidate, but he can win games in this post.
