Arkansas Basketball: Analyzing transfer targets DJ Wagner, Wooga Poplar, Kasean Pryor and Dillon Mitchell
Current Arkansas Basketball transfer portal commitments
Johnell Davis - 6’4 guard
2023-24 season stats: 18.2 ppg, 6.3 rpg, and 2.9 apg
Davis was the Co-AAC Player of the Year at Florida Atlantic last season, leading them in scoring while shooting 48% from the field and 41% from three-point range. He proved he could score against high-level competition, scoring 35 points against Arizona and 26 points versus SEC foe, Texas A&M. He’s the current go-to scoring option for the Razorbacks, allowing Coach Cal to build a roster around him and have a potent offense.
Zvonimir Ivisic - 7’2 center
2023-24 season stats (15 games): 5.5 ppg and 3.3 rpg
The international big man missed the first half of last season due to eligibility issues but showed potential in limited time off the bench, including four double-digit scoring games. Ivisic shot nearly 60% from the field and could stretch the floor at his size and also had 20 blocks as well. He’s projected to be the backup big man but if Ivisic is a breakout candidate, he could push for more minutes at the five-spot.
Adou Thiero - 6’6 forward
2023-24 season stats: 7.2 ppg and 5.0 rpg
Thiero is a versatile forward who can guard many positions on the court and is known as an athletic defender. He started 19 games at Kentucky and follows Coach Cal to Arkansas, who is familiar with his playstyle. Thiero’s ability to play multiple positions is helpful for the rebuilding roster so that they don’t need to find 13 players who can play in the SEC.
Jonas Aidoo - 6’11 center
2023-24 season stats: 11.4 ppg and 7.3 rpg
Aidoo is one of the top defensive big men in the country, earning All-SEC honors at Tennessee in his first year as a starter. He’s a better interior defender than anyone big that Calipari had at Kentucky and he alone should make Arkansas solid on that end, paired with Thiero. He and Ivisic will make for one of the best 1-2 punches in the country next season.
