Dayton Flyers - Grade: B+

The biggest news of the offseason in the A-10 was DaRon Holmes electing to go pro early to get drafted. It wasn’t unexpected but still a big loss for the program. Just as crucial was losing guards Koby Brea and Kobe Elvis to the transfer portal, two elite sharpshooters.

The good news is that the Flyers landed two of the top transfers from the portal this offseason. Big man Zed Key is a proven veteran from Ohio State, while Posh Alexander is a former Big East Defensive Player of the Year guard and could be the best point guard in the A-10 next season. Keeping starting forward Nate Santos from leaving also was a nice touch as well. We’ll see how much of a shooting dip the team takes but there’s enough high-end talent to remain a threat at the top.

Duquesne Dukes - Grade: A

Coming off making the NCAA Tournament for the first time in decades, Duquesne had an easy coaching change, with assistant Dru Joyce taking over for Keith Dambrot. Half of the roster is gone, including star guards, Dae Dae Grant and Jimmy Clark. But since everyone who left from the rotation was all seniors, that can’t be held against the Dukes.

What Duquesne did do was add plenty of talent, all of whom were impact players at their previous stops. Maximus Edwards was a double-digit scorer from GW, while Tre Dinkins, Alex Williams, and Jahsean Corbett were high-level contributors too. There remains plenty of depth and overall optimism that the team can remain in the top-half of the A-10 going forward.
