George Washington Revolutionaries - Grade: C

Of the four main pieces from last season’s team, two are gone. Leading scorer James Bishop had no eligibility left, while Maximus Edwards transferred to another Atlantic 10 Basketball team (Duquesne) this offseason. Forwards Darren Buchanan Jr. and Garrett Johnson are back, with hopefully Johnson able to make a full-recovery after his offseason injury.

GW did add a few transfers, including double-digit scoring ball-handler Trey Moss, along with Gerald Drumgoole Jr., who averaged 13.5 ppg at Delaware and will be the ideal replacement for Edwards. They’ll need Rafael Castro and Sean Hansen to have an impact in the new frontcourt and there are concerns about the center depth but for the most part, the Revs were able to hold steady overall.

La Salle Explorers - Grade: C-

La Salle may have suffered the most from the transfer portal this offseason, with three of its top four scorers leaving. That included key guards Jhamor Brickus and Khalil Brantley, as well as starting center, Rokas Jocius. Outside of Daeshon Shepard’s return, they’ll need underclassmen such as Ryan Zan and Tunde Vahlberg Fasasi to have big sophomore campaigns to make the frontcourt viable.

What the Explorers did do is take a few swings in the transfer portal, in hopes of finding a gem or two. Eric Acker averaged 12.7 ppg and 3.8 apg as a freshman at Long Island, while Mac Etienne (DePaul) and Demetrius Lilley (Penn State) have power conference experience to offer. If Temple transfer Jahlil White (10.1 ppg) can emerge as a go-to option, he and Shepherd would be a nice wing combo for La Salle.
