Loyola-Chicago Ramblers - Grade: A+

The Ramblers had lots of seniors departing, such as Braden Norris, Dame Adelekun, and Phillip Alston. However, none of the rotation pieces with eligibility entered the portal, including young stars, Miles Rubin and Jayden Dawson. Leading scorer Desmond Watson (12.6 ppg) also is back for his senior season.

Loyola also landed four transfers, two inside and out. Jalen DeLoach and Francis Nwaokroie were high-profile frontcourt pickups, with Kymany Houinsou coming over from Wazzu as a 6’6 wing. Justin Moore averaged 12.4 ppg and 3.5 apg at Drexel and is set to be the next starting PG for the team. Between these newcomers and the returning core pieces, the Ramblers have a good shot at staying towards the top.

Rhode Island Rams - Grade: B

It was another offseason of roster turnover, as starters Zek Montgomery and Luis Kortright transferring out, along with a few other pieces down the rotation. But they were able to bring back leading scorers Jaden House and David Green, along with key freshmen pieces, David Fuchs and Cam Estevez.

Among the pickups for the Rams was Sebastian Thomas, who originally started his career with them. He’s coming off career-high numbers of 19.6 ppg and 4.9 apg at Albany and was an All-AEC star. If he can have a similar impact as the lead guard, Rhode Island finally can make a move up the A-10 ladder.
