6. UMass Minutemen - 14-7 (5-4)

No fan base has had their heart pressure tested more than UMass, who have had three games decided in the last literal seconds. So although all of their wins have come against the bottom half of the league, they’re also a couple of bounces away from being an A-10 title contender.

The forward duo of Matt Cross and Josh Cohen have gotten all of the attention but the young backcourt has played well in its own right, with both Rahsool Diggins and Keon Thompson now averaging double figures. They have a key road clash at St. Bonaventure this week before hosting Rhode Island on Sunday.

5. St. Bonaventure Bonnies - 13-8 (4-5)

The Bonnies may be under .500 but they’ve played arguably the toughest schedule to this point. They have an impressive sweep over VCU already, while also going toe-to-toe at Dayton last weekend. They also have a home loss to Fordham and a road defeat to Duquesne without Dae Dae Grant so they’re certainly not without flaws.

With Mika Adams-Woods now back in the fold, St. Bonaventure has a chance to make a run in league play. They have two key home games this week against UMass and Duquesne, looking for revenge for the earlier dogfight defeat.
