It's been a good opening couple of months for Atlantic 10 teams such as UMass, Davidson, and GW. Where do they stand in the latest power rankings?

8. UMass Minutemen - 6-2

A complete roster rebuild has worked in Coach Frank Martin's favor, as the frontcourt duo of Josh Cohen (18.1 ppg and 7.9 rpg) and Matt Cross (15.8 ppg and 8.3 rpg) have been excellent. The young backcourt has done its part collectively, led by Rahsool Diggins and Keon Thompson.

A big win over West Virginia pushed UMass up a couple of spots, while losses to Towson and Harvard are understandable. They have a great opportunity to show that they can be a threat in the league this upcoming week, playing in the Diamond Head Classic and having three legit opponents to match up with.

7. George Mason Patriots - 9-2

Like UMass, George Mason is a team with a rebuilt roster (and HC) that has played a weaker schedule compared to other teams. But they've largely handled business to this point. Keyshawn Hall, coming off a 36-point performance, is now averaging around 17 ppg and 10 rpg. Darius Maddox and Amari Kelly are double-digit producers as well.

We'll see if newly-eligible Jalen Haynes will have an impact in the frontcourt and the concern is that athletic teams in the Atlantic 10 can neutralize the strengths of this team. A matchup on the road at Tulane this week will be a nice opportunity to show that they can potentially beat upper-tier teams in the league.
