2023-24 Season at Minnesota: 9.5 PPG | 3.6 RPG | 7.5 APG | 33.3 MPG | 39.3 FG% | 36.4 3PT%

Hawkins, a 5’11 point guard from Washington, D.C. will be an integral part of Grant McCasland’s squad in the upcoming season. Elijah Hawkins is a 2-time transfer who got his start at Howard before transferring to Minnesota for one season.

Hawkins is a point guard who sees the floor well as he finished tied for second in the nation in assists per game, averaging 7.5 over his 33 appearances. Though his departure from Minnesota came as a bit of a surprise to many, fans in Lubbock have welcomed Hawkins and are excited to see him run their offense.

9. Dug McDaniel (Kansas State)

2023-24 Season at Michigan: 16.3 PPG | 3.7 RPG | 4.7 APG | 35.4 MPG | 41.0 FG% | 36.8 3PT%

Yet another Big 10 to Big 12 transfer comes in the form of Dug McDaniel, now a Kansas State Wildcat and formerly a Michigan Wolverine. McDaniel led a struggling Michigan team in scoring a season ago and is a solid portal acquisition for Jerome Tang and the Wildcats. McDaniel is an upcoming Junior who saw his scoring production nearly double from his freshman campaign to his sophomore year. The 5’11 guard had two 33-point outings in overtime losses to Florida and Oregon.

Tang and the Wildcats will be in need of a lot of production from McDaniel this season as they return just one starter from last year’s squad.
