3. Baylor needs to be content with flying under the radar

Scott Drew has a very good team in Waco this year. Somehow, the 2021 NCAA Champion Baylor Bears seem to be flying under the radar in 2024. The Baylor Bears have as talented a backcourt as anyone in the country. Year after year, Scott Drew gets great guard play. Just in recent years, Baylor has had Jared Butler, MaCio Teague, Davion Mitchell, Adam Flagler, L.J. Cryer, and Keyonte George, to name a few. Just like in years past, Baylor has terrific guard play. This year’s unit is led by freshman Ja’Kobe Walter.

Notable Baylor Guards this season:

Ja’Kobe Walter - 14.7 points per game, 4.7 rebounds per game, 1.5 assists per game

RayJ Dennis - 13.5 points per game, 6.7 assists per game, 3.8 rebounds per game

Langston Love - 11 points per game, 2.9 rebounds per game, 1.2 assists per game

Jayden Nunn - 10.8 points per game, 2.5 rebounds per game, 2 assists per game

With a backcourt, this talented, Baylor is good enough to make a final four run. While they may not be talked about by the national media as much as other teams ranked in the top 15, they should feel very good about their chances in Kansas City, and their chances to reach the 2nd and maybe third weekend in the NCAA Tournament.
