Big East Basketball: 2024 offseason grades for each team
Seton Hall Pirates - Grade: B-
The reigning NIT champions had five senior starters but only two of them (Jaden Bediako and Al-Amir Dawes) officially had run out of eligibility. The other three opted to enter the transfer portal, with Kadary Richmond and Dre Davis leaving, while Dylan Addae-Wuse opted to come back.
Isaiah Coleman is the only other returning rotation piece back for Seton Hall. Everyone else comes via the portal, with most of them being underclassmen. This includes former top-50 prospects, Garvey Dual (Providence) and Scotty Middleton (Ohio State), along with former four-star freshman, Gus Yalden.
Zion Harmon is another former top-50 player out of high school, coming off two strong years at Bethune-Cookman. He has power conference talent and will be tasked with being the new lead guard for the program. Veterans Prince Aligbe and Chaunce Jenkins add to the depth, while former Louisville big man Emmanuel Okorafor could be a breakout candidate to watch as well.
Overall, there’s a chance that this new-look Seton Hall roster could be a disaster if none of these young newcomers work out. But it’s a risk Coach Shaheen Holloway is willing to make and this could have one of the higher ceilings in the Big East if things truly work out.
