UConn Huskies - Grade: A

As previously mentioned, UConn has been in the news a lot this offseason. But that’s mainly because of now 2-time national champion HC Dan Hurley, who was courted by both the Kentucky Wildcats and Los Angeles Lakers of the NBA at some point. He elected to turn them down to return to the Huskies.

He’s coming back to a new-look roster, after losing four starters to the NBA, including top-10 draft picks, Stephon Castle and Donovan Clingan. The one starter who did come back is Alex Karaban, who’ll be viewed as one of the best players in the country next season.

The team added three notable players this offseason, including 5-star wing prospect, Liam McNeeley. The former Indiana commit gives them a legit shooter and possibly the next “one and done” player. Aidan Mahaney comes over from Saint Mary’s to give them a new lead guard, while Tarris Reed was a starter Michigan insider to reload the frontcourt.

In the end, the return of Coach Hurley makes this a great offseason for the Huskies. We’ll see if the current roster is good enough to make another Final Four appearance but both in the short and long-term, the program is in great shape to remain national contenders.
